Rainy Grounds

Did you know the rainy season is the perfect time to plant hardy wood plants such as fruit trees, wood trees and spice trees. The sufficient amount of natural water reduces the amount of work for farmers.

Better Fermented

What is Fermentation
(noun) The process of lactofermentation in food. This process preserves the food and creates beneficial enzymes, boosts nutrients and minerals, along with various strains of probiotic.

Update: we have fallen in love with fermented food. Not only do we love fermented food for its tangy taste, but also their many benefits for the human body.

One of our first experiments with fermentation was with one of our beloved roots of all time, our farm-grown Lobak Putih (Daikon Radish) during our farm workshop. Here’s a few reasons why we love fermented food:

  • Rich in probiotic bacteria
  • Improves digestion and absorption
  • Boosts the availability of beneficial enzymes, vitamin B, omega-3 fatty acids, minerals such as iron and calcium
  • Helps build a better immune system
  • Long-lasting snack/food

Include more naturally fermented food in your diet and let us know if you want recipes of them!

Towards a Fresh Start

How are you preparing yourself for the new year? Every morning we are reminded by the morning dew that it’s a fresh start. However, in the beginning of the year, we are reminded even more that we have to be better in the year to come.

What a Year

This year, lots of things happened at Blueboots Farm that shaped us to what we are now. We are grateful for everyone who’s involved at the farm, for those who mentored us and for you who support us through your feedbacks and purchases. Please keep following our progress for the years to come!

Merry Christmas

We’d like to wish you a very Merry Christmas! Hopefully this Christmas will bring peace to all of us.

Blueboots Values: Sustainability

We are mindful of the environment. We minimize human footprint to the environment by being mindful to the farming and processing methods we implement.

Exploring The Wild Side

The wild side always hides a thing or two that made us want to come back for more. In the forest by our farm land, there are trees such as durian, cloves, teak and other trees waiting to be discovered. We love to bring our guests to the forest as it brings a pleasant surprise every time we came there.

A Farm Snapshot

For those of you who haven’t been to Blueboots Farm, we would like to share a snapshot of the farm’s map. Can you guess which one is our processing facility? And where do our butternut pumpkins grow?

Our Precious Cijeruk Farmers

Our farmers grew up in the local area of Cijeruk. They have been practicing traditional farming method, which is what we apply now at Blueboots Farm. The method is suitable for the farm because it has been used through generations and has been adapted to local soil condition, character of the land and also the weather. These farmers are our true source of knowledge when it comes to local farming wisdom.

Holding on to Our Values

One of our values is to be sustainable. We are mindful of the environment. We minimize human footprint to the environment by being mindful to the farming and processing methods we implement.
